Learn effective and inspiring teaching methods to support your movement goals!

  • We will briefly review the teacher’s responsibility for the “I Grow, Move & Develop” physical activity section of the early years Finnish curriculum.
  • We will review the movement goals and how best to support your children with learning them.
  • You will learn ways to implement movement regularly with minimal planning required.
  • I will share my best teaching tips to engage your children and make movement sessions fun!

The workshop will cover these “supervised exercise” ECE education goals:

  • Locomotor skills: “I can skip, hop & run.”
  • Motor skills: “I can throw, kick & build.”
  • Body management: “I can balance, roll & stretch.”
  • “I move both indoors and outdoors.”
  • “I participate in physical activity with a pair.”
  • “I participate in physical activity with a group.”

Get 20 fun movement activities to implement right away!

No need to search for activties to help you teach the required ECE curriculum goals.

I will freely share 20 activities that will support you with achieving these important movement skills.

The ideas are easy to implement and you will be able to get started right away with:

  • individual activities
  • partner activities
  • group movement
  • activities using simple equipment: balls, beanbags, hoops or ropes
  • activities without equipment.

Through regular practice and repetition your children will develop all-round body coordination and physical self-confidence.

Not only that, regular movement supports cognitive learning, the development of good social skills and increases the physical and mental benefits of being active!

Testimonials

I had the great pleasure to meet Darlene during a workshop in the kindergarten where I work.

Darlene created an amazing programme about children and movement for educators.

During the workshop we had a demonstration with a range of different activities that we can do daily to get children moving, coordinated and, best of all, happy.

She is so passionate and she inspired me a lot!

We booked a workshop with Moovkids as a part of our planning day. Our goal was to get inspired and to gain new insight and ideas into movement with children in early education.

Our workshop was run by Darlene Koskinen, who is a very energetic, bubbly, knowledgeable and active lady. She has a wealth of information about supporting the growth and development of children, the challenges we face in this day and age, how to adapt activities for different ages and how to control a group safely and effectively whilst still having fun.

We were taken through our paces with many different activities and techniques as well as doing fun activities with simple equipment such as balls, ropes, hoops and bean bags.

The workshop included in equal measure fun, laughter, theory and team work. I can warmly recommend this to early years educators and anyone who works with older children, teens, adults or anyone interested in movement and the joy and benefits it brings!
